Canadian Trail full of mistakes
Today I just learned about the Canadian Trail at Canada Place in Vancouver. Interested in finding more info about it, I ran across their "digital trail" and was shocked at how many mistakes there is. I wonder if the same mistakes are found in the real thing in Vancouver. Would be a shame.
1. Quebec moto is "Je me souviens"

And then it looks like they couldn't find the accents and hyphens on their keyboards:
2. Gaspé
3. Montréal
4. Trois-Rivières
5. Ville de Québec (they definitely use the French version otherwise it would say Quebec City)
6. Mont-Tremblant (this one is like if we'd say "Kelowna" for "West Kelowna")
7. Oujé-Bougoumou

8.Trois-Rivires Trois-Rivières

9. Abitibi Tmiscamingue Abitibi-Témiscamingue

The day Quebec allows English signage, etc, that'll be the day I care about accents and anything related to Quebec in general.

Re: Canadian Trail full of mistakes
Everyone might not agree with Quebec politics, but if it wasn't for Quebec being the root of Canada, BC might not even be Canadian today.
This is not a language issue, it's about butchering names of an entire province in an "official" touristic attraction, paid at the cost of millions of dollars of taxpayers money.
Again, I'm curious to know if these spilling mistakes are imprinted in the concrete at Canada Place.

The landmark that today is Canada Place is dedicated by the Government of Canada to the people of Canada and the world, who will visit and enjoy the many features of this unique project. Canada Place Corporation (CPC), a Crown agent, continues to act as the coordinating landlord for Canada Place facilities.

mathieu have you tried to contact Canadian Trail about errors on digital trail you found, if not maybe that would be good starting point.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Canada is still one bilingual country from coast to coast and the federal government should make a commitment to represent all of Canada in a diligent way, especially when it comes to featuring and promoting our nation to visitors and foreigners.
Quebec as a province is not bilingual. Nor is BC. And this is not the subject of this thread.

that is the problem - CANADA is bilingual.
Pick up a can of soup in BC - see the english and french? Now pick up the same can of soup in quebec...... where is the english?
Be thankful it doesn't read as "3 rivers"
The last thing we need is french speakers whining in this province too - french language B.S. is the most annoying and hypocritical political correctness I have ever witnessed. Get over yourself Quebec, you lost the war and should be thankful we have humored your culture as long as we have. Can't wait for a gov't with some balls.....

Be thankful it doesn't read as "3 rivers" What would you say if BC would read Britiche-Colombia? Be thankful it could be worse?
The last thing we need is french speakers whining in this province too BC is within Canada's boundaries. This issue is about Canada Place, not BC Place. - french language B.S. is the most annoying and hypocritical political correctness I have ever witnessed. As I said this thread is not about Quebec politics, it's about a Canadian touristic attraction located in BC but you're more than welcome to start a thread about French Québec politics. Get over yourself Quebec, you lost the war and should be thankful we have humored your culture as long as we have. I wonder who's laughing at who right now with all the benefits they receive from Ottawa on behalf of all Canadians LOL. But again, this could be another thread. Can't wait for a gov't with some balls..... Meat balls and spaghetti sauce?

In my opinion kebec has been a terrible draw on the Canadian economy for years( ie. taxpayers in the rest of Canada) this has to stop. I think we should seperate from kebec and be done wuth them, Or lets have them allow english signs in Montreal. After all this CANADA not froggy land.

The term Frog was coined back in the 1800s to refer to frenchmen, Because they loved eating frogs legs.

In Québec they refer to Canada as tête carrée land. :die laughing
Please refer to definition 1.2 and definition 1.3:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... arr%C3%A9e
This lovely name came from the fact that the English and loyalists used to divide all their lands in squares, as the French simply divided theirs in any kind of random shape.
