Better yet what advice would you give your 17 year old daughter.
Carry pepper spray, a loud whistle, brass knuckles, a hat pin and wear steel toes running shoes!
Put your thumb on the outside of the fist ,scream as loud as youy can , AND , aim for his balls....

Unreasonable to expect a scared spitless person to do this when they are overpowered, grabbed from behind and being dragged!
Besides guys that do this type of thing do not have balls!

I teach my kids to be smart and brave...
And think what you want about "balls"...
People like that do indeed have them... They just don't know how to use them.....

Part of the "smarts" I teach them , is too NEVER talk to strangers....Specially , on line.
As a "stranger" , it's NONE of your buisness what or how I teach my kids , never mind their ages and/or genders....

Re: Come on ladies! Turn the lights on!
Sorry Mike, you brought it up on the thread and therefore it is open to questioning.
But from your response it is evident that the answer for all 3 questions is no.
But it is good you teach your kids what you know. It may not be enough and may not fit all circumstances but it is better than nothing.
However, even professionally trained women know when this level of warning from the extremely reputable sources of police and university security is issued then you pay attention and avail yourself of the services available, if you have no other means of being involved in a buddy system of your own.

That's completely obvious.
My kids are taught to "pay attention " to their surroundings.

And , Did I ???? NOT on this thread , So their ages and genders is NOT "open to questioning"...

I think if you read the rules trying to get personal info from anyone is a no-no.
I got Married because I was sick and tired of finishing my own sentences.

The only person who may be in orbit here is you. While women should be able to walk alone at night or anywhere for that matter without being confronted, that hasn't been the case for oh.................., ever?

Ok, more specifically in our circles it means smarten up not shut up....
Your circle is small. It only means to shut up or be quiet. It refers to actual dummies. who can't talk.
Please understand why some were confused.

No I think most people would think the weapons and training over the top
disagree. I don't think most would think that self defense ability is in any way over the top.
Being 17 or 27 or 37 or 47 and walking alone late at night is over the top.

So let me see if I understand what you're saying here....
No one should be able to walk home from a bus stop alone at night?
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
