Girls Assault Bus Driver In Vancouver

Post by Dizzy1 »

3 girls charged with assault on female bus driver in Vancouver ...

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-c ... -1.2571981

... so let me get this straight, 3 girls and their boy toys get on a bus and don't pay and then, on the bus, they start smoking and drinking boos they had just stolen. Bus driver approaches them and asks them to leave, the three guys do so and the 3 girls just start wailing on the driver.

Now, get this, the youngest of the 3 is 17 and because she's only 17, she can't be named to "protect her" (that's farce number 1) and she is "very well known to police". Girl number 2 is 20 and she has had 267 recorded encounters with the police! What the hell is she doing out on the street? I don't care what those "recorded encounters" are for, be it assault, shoplifting or whatever ... if you have that many you need time away from the general public, but then this is Canada, home of the bleedin' hearts .. "its not their fault, its their upbringing, blah, blah, blah ... (that's farce number 2). Now, if 267 run ins with the law ain't that impressive, take the oldest one ... 22 years old and 462 "negative encounters" with the police! One can really only ask, WTH? How can a legal/justice, what ever you want to call it have gotten this broken where we have people who have had run ins with cop, and it doesn't matter if they're charged with anything, they're doing something bad enough to have police attended and make a file, and these encounters are in the hundreds?

So now they're being charged (good) but then released with an order to appear at some later date that will be set some time down the road (and that's farce number 3) ... so now they're back on the street until who knows when, and who knows if they'll even bother to show up for court and if they do, they'll get the usual "just don't do it again" slap on the wrist and sent on their merry way.

And of course, the one girls lawyer will be pleading "not guilty" ...

... really, 267 run ins with the law and you wanna risk this? Yikes.

The bleeding heart liberal approach does not appear to be working in this case.

Perhaps a return to the strap? In public? Once for each 'negative encounter' with the police?

Or a week in jail for each encounter?
Or a thousand dollars for each encounter, which will barely cover the cost of these encounters?
Or a day of supervised public toilet cleaning for each encounter? A day added for each verbal or physical protest during the consequence, since we know there will be non-compliance and swearing. Maybe a mild shock collar?
Or a week of exile from Canada for each encounter?
Or even a week of exile within Canada's Great North for each encounter? Nunavit? Or someplace smaller and more impoverished?

Actually, why don't we build more prisons in the far North and fewer in nice places, like the Okanagan? We could stimulate the northern economy and provide a few jobs, and get these people off prime real estate and away from the public.

To stimulate people with jobs and a moving economy is ok in BC but to force those convicted to live up there would be inhuman treatment to them and thrown out. As far as I know there is no limits on dealings with the law that send you to jail. Much like the "to appear" you read in most every article about someone caught doing something. If those doing these things knew they would be held (in a northern location) they may think twice. May think twice but given that their thinking ability may be deminished probably not.

I really like this idea!
