Just wondering if anyone lives or has lived in Parksville and what you think of it.

Thanks.

I know several people who live there and they like it.

My brother moved out there last year and absolutely loves it. I would love to move to the island too.

Parksville is smaller and might be boring but it's a pleasant place to live.
I bet the air is cleaner.

How is it for a family with teens. Boring? What's to do there?

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Isn't Parksville where the no tipping restaurant is located? I believe it is called something like "Smoke on the Water." I would visit Parksville just to go there.

Why would you go there. the cost of the ferries and just the islanders are a different breed too. maybe too much salt in the air or something.

Parksville is a nice retirement community. But I would think it's a bit too quiet for most teens. They'd likely be a lot happier in Nanaimo.

I live in Victoria and we have very little to no air pollution here.

The Islanders are just fine.... As one who now lives here , I can honestly say there's not enough salt in the air..

But hey , on a good day , the lake does smell like Plumper Bay...and that ain't good

Parksville is a great jumping off point for visiting other parts of the Island. Coombs! Tofino! Gold River! and the Horn Lake Cave Provincial Park. Close enough to Nanaimo to get on the ferry to hop across the Georgia Strait.

Having said that, I found it very compact and may be a great place to raise young kids, but teens? ummmm.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?
