Check your Fortis electric bill

Post by bumblebuns »

I just checked mine and found a late payment charge. Interesting because I pay by direct debit. I wonder how many nickels and dimes they are raking in this way...

Which is why everyone should ALWAYS check their bills. Offices make simple mistakes that should never be overlooked by consumers.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

How close to the due date did you pay it? Sometimes the Bank can be slow in getting it to the Business you are paying.
I always pay 3-4 days in advance to be safe.

That's worked out great for me!

Better yet did you contact Fortis and did they correct the mistake.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes their way.

Sorry, missed that part. After having a problem with that years ago (more was taken than authorized) I will never allow that again. They can take what they want when they want and there is nothing you can do about it!

Yes I did, right away, and the charming lady apologised profusely and said she would cancel it right away. I'll see if it comes off the next bill. I still don't know how it could possibly happen unless there is a glitch in their system, and if so, I don't imagine it would apply just to me.
