I think they should allocate more tax revenues to school/education and put some money back in the system.

I think they should tax the wealthy more.

...and I'm not a Teacher or otherwise employed by the school system.

Spoken like a true Republican, wanting a good educational system is the same as demanding an answer to all the problems so it's unachievable.

We should have a user-pay system. That way, lower class riff-raff would go to poor schools, or like in the Third World, not at all. Middle class people would send their kids to schools that cost a moderate amount, and the wealthy would go to schools that allowed their children to advance past high school to university. Middle and lower class students would comprise the working class and the wealthy would form a perpetual elite who would look after ruling the nation without having to fear the leftists taking over.
Leftists and socialists always want everybody to have an equal chance at success. This is life. It's a competition. And the wealthy have an edge and they want to keep it. Leftists always want to change the rules and take away the advantage that the wealthy have.

only thing i would argue here is , i think there is more middle class now that are probably really bordering on just getting by, but other than that i agree, who cares if we have packs of uneducated teens roaming the streets with nothing to do?

The top 400 richest Americans have over 2.3 TRILLION dollars between them. So we can send an 18 year old half way around the world to die for their country but we can't tax the rich. *bleep*!

Top 1% of the 1%, they are above that list of 400.

More than likely they have that amount & maybe more, of course trying to find info + names on them is most likely impossible.
They pay to keep their info completely private.

History is full of class struggles. Everyone wants their share of the pie. Normal human nature. India even managed to formalize it with the caste system.

Being new to this country I have found that the education system here rather backward. Your standard of academics is lower for what you are paying for. My daughter came from year 7 went straight into year 8 and said she had already done most of the subjects in year 6.

Your tax system is appalling as every house owner is paying an amount regulated by what district you live in. It should be calculated as a whole. All buildings divided by tax basis. Yes some areas will be more and a lot others will be less. Plus anyone that has a child in private school should have their portion taken of their tax component. They are paying already for the child's education.

PS my child is in public education and in Australia we only paid an nominal amount IE $ 300 for incidentals per yr.
