Senior with dementia drives to Kamloops from Richmond

Post by Sige »

...should we be concerned that she is still driving? Granted, it's "mild" but still...

At what point is she considered unfit to drive? When she forgets what a red light is for or a stop sign or when she disappears and they can't find her?

She is either going to kill herself or some other poor person.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

In my mind the family and possibly a doctor has failed that lady. I know it is hard but there comes a time when people have to step in do something for the safety of the person. I know the family have the best of intentions but they don't seem to be doing the right thing to me. She obviously should not be driving and possibly should not even be out without supervision. I hope she gets home and has proper care.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes their way.

Only trying to add a bit of levity but I'm surprised she wasn't coming to kelowna where she would fit in quite nicely.

I was wondering the same thing. Why has the family not intervened. Than goodness the poor soul was found safe and is on her way back home. Hopefully the family will have a wake up call now.

Apparently not the first excursion to the wrong destination, so it would seem that obvious warning signs are being completely ignored, since the woman still holds a drivers licence.

If this happened in Penticton, nobody would have noticed since it involves 75 percent of the population there lol.
