^^^ Biggest reason I never entered into employee lottery pack, it can cause workplace issues. Theirs been a number of these over the years threw out Canada. Which usually ends up in court, in this case could happen & no one gets anything.

The article linked ultimately says that the person never purchased tickets so don't see how that's relevant given that a ticket was obviously purchased.

In so far as lottery pools go one would think that by now the lottery corporation could have come up with some sort of method to deal with those specifically. A subscription administered by them comes to mind but then you'd have to rely on them being honest. LOL

I think it sucks that you have to let them splash your picture and name all over the place but I guess one can afford to insulate oneself from the unwanted attention with $50 mil.

My opinion, the winner should be asked and has a choice in the matter. Chances of getting less harassed, to me, is important.

It a shame those wishing to purchase tickets on any type of lottery, did not read the rules before buying.
If you don't agree with them, then its pretty simple. Don't purchase a ticket

As soon as the requirement of public disclosure is lost, so is the credibility of the lottery.

Exactly. If you can't manage to drop out of sight with those kind of resources you're definately a few clowns short of a circus. I'd be off on a few miles of deserted black sand beach somewhere with an investment banker on speed dial.

Yup. I would take time and get a new phone & phone number, get an investment planner, then I'd set up a rental situation so as not to alert anyone to my relocation plans (and be more portable after the dust settles), then once all that is in place I'd show up to collect the monies, do the interviews, etc. and donate most of the items I left behind. My family, I believe, would totally go along with this. ;-)
