1,100 bags of mothballs given as candies to poor people

Post by I am Canadian »

Whoever bagged those bags should be fired. How can someone NOT smell the difference between mothballs and candies? Of course, no details on how such a potentially deadly mistake happened, all at the depends of the less fortunate.

Can't fire volunteers, can let them go.
The one in charge that person can be fired, how the hell does mothballs be mistaken as candy.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

From the article ... The camphor mothballs are round and white, and come individually wrapped in clear cellophane.

Camphor mothballs are not the traditional napthalene/pesticide mothballs we all remember from Grandma's attic. Camphor is widely used for culinary and medicinal purposes, and is commonly used as a flavouring in sweets. Still, as mothballs they are fairly concentrated and can make someone pretty sick.

It must be a challenge to reach the people who may have received these hampers, given the economic nature of many who use food bank facilities.

Wow. Pretty stupid even if it was an honest mistake.

What surprises me on these threads is that no one has yet demanded the resignation resignation of the Premier for not preventing this faux pas.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I'm surprised nobody has conjured up some way of blaming union employees.
