There are undoubtedly those who would agree with your view of the situation.

I am not one of those who see the situation as Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and Baby Bears depicted in books written by people who try to make humans out of animals.

So be it.

Thank heaven we have people 'on the ground' who use their common sense and realize their actual role as this CONSERVATION officer did, instead of just acting like a brainless idiot - that role was acted out by his 'boss'....

My comments related the COs wish to argue the issue with the decision making process found in Nature.

You purposely responded with a personal attack that had nothing to do with Nature.

Why ??

Because this isn't about nature, it's about a human being, making a decision, based on what was a correct thing to do, instead of referring to a binder and just going with what the pages say, because the pages were written at a desk somewhere, and never really depicted the situation out in the field, and the ability of said human to make these decisions without negative recourse, (using critical thinking), rather than being a robot or minion, just always doing what you're told to do without questioning anything. There, run on sentence enough for you?

To jamapple ...

When you say " .. based on what was a correct thing to do .. " you are making a value judgement. Just as the worker and his boss did at the time.

When it comes to value judgements there is unfortunately no ultimately right or wrong answer. Only NDP type thinking allows for argument over every issue or situation that arises. Which is likely why it never gets anything done.

Sorry, Donald, but, no. It's not a value judgement, it's a decision made by a trained professional. Unless of course you think all COs have no formal training, and know to just do as the book says, with little to no sway.

Love the NDP annalagies you constantly come up with. Replace it with critical thinking, instead of government dictating, then you will see how our world could be a better place. People aren't dumb. Let them make some decisions, not constantly tell them what to do without always falling back on disiplinary actions for those that don't comply to the letter.
