I refuse to accept responsibility for other people's addictions, because I am a member of a society that 'prohibited' drugs like oxy and heroin. It is the ultimate hypocrisy in a society where everybody is looking to someone else to blame for their problems.
If you have a problem that led to your addictions, then get help with it and get over it.
I am all for programs that will end addiction, but I will not donate one penny to 'safe injection sites' that will allow a person sit in a drug induced stupor for the rest of their lives.
I kicked my own addictions with no outside help.
From an old movie 'either get on with living or get on with dying'. Period.
As for the judicial system, it's a system that is broken in all aspects, but there is a peculiar train of thought that says that old laws and constitutions are sacrosanct, and even if they are blatantly stupid, if some old long dead fart declared it, then it takes a motherload of lawmaking to change it. Sad but true.
