Oh, for sure, you will see Premier L'Amour De Camera in a hardhat bragging about it sometime next week.. when the rowboats are there and utterly useless inflatable buoys surround a boat that has already polluted shoreline and killed fish and birds!

Damn....that Tug would never have run aground under an NDP government! :135:

How's that world class spill containment gonna work in 70 knot wind gusts? This weekend looks pretty stormy. Oh well, the storm will just dissipate the oil slick. Now that's world class.

Yup. The only way some posters on here will be happy is when all marine traffic is only dugout and Birch Bark canoes.

Funny how when a FN operated fishing boat or tug goes down, the fuel leaked from it's tanks doesn't make headline news. When the vessel is owned by someone other than a FN, it is an attack on their livelihood and sustenance existence.

What does that have to do with:

A tug operating that close to shore with a barge in tow.
A tug operating that close to shore with the weather forecast he should have checked.
A tug operating that close to shore with BC's world class spill containment not quite up to speed yet.

Yes, let's go back to sail and steam. It can't go wrong!

Good thing the barge was empty, this time and boy [or girl] these tuggies carry a lot of fuel for the long haul. How is the Queen Of The Deep doing now after all of these Years?. All of the fuel from the vehicles and two bodies still there?. We do not need to worry about LNG as it does not Float [in many ways] but it has a sinking way to it. I wonder how they would clean up an LNG disaster?. The Boom would be disastrous.

You are kidding right?? If not you need a little science tutorial. Any liquid that is hundreds of degree's below zero coming in contact with seawater would instantly boil off and dissipate to atmosphere. And since Natural Gas is lighter than air, it would not remain on the water surface but rather go straight up and blend to a concentration of less than 11% which would make it non combustible very quickly. Above 14% it would be non combustible as well.
