BC Governments advertising on TV
I am getting sick and tired of those BC Government adds on TV LNG is one of them They have a plan Wow
Their plan is to get re elected and they use my tax dollars to do that. There should be a limit on spending for all parties.

So why does the Gov't feel its necessary to spend our money to tell us how good they are or convince us that what they are doing is right!
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

^^Because they are lying... but if you tell a lie often enough, and long enough, you will convince gullible taxpayers that it is the truth!!!

Premier Rachel Notley’s office confirmed Monday the province is spending $4.4 million on television, print, radio, online and cinema advertising for its plan, which includes a broad-based carbon tax coming into effect in 2017, an accelerated phase-out of coal-fired power and a cap on oilsands emissions.
That amount spent on the new campaign, which runs through September, comes on top of the $700,000 initially allocated last fall to publicize the plan after it was launched, spokesman Matt Williamson said in an email.

I've noticed over the years that this government is criticized for doing things that all governments do and advertising is one of them. There's a strong argument for cutting way back on advertising but I'd hate to see it cut out completely. Sometimes there are important things that governments need to communicate but I agree that patting themselves on the back isn't one of them.

Re: BC Governments advertising on TV
There is a difference in governments advertising programs and initiatives available to citizens of the province and 'electioneering' ads (partisan backpatting ads that are only half-truths) and we need to see if not an end to the latter, at least severe limits on how much taxpayer money is spent and when these types of ads are allowed to air.
Ontario passed a law in 2004 to have an 'ad watchdog' view these ads and determine which were overtly partisan and pull them. The Wynne government is fighting to gut the law. Of course, BC has no such regulation nor does it limit political donations from any person or corporation inside or outside of the country.
In my opinion, no corporate, union, out of country (or even out of province) donations should be allowed and individual donations capped at $500 each.

It's called campaigning, get over it. Every political party
has done it since, forever. The ones who don't usually loose the next election.
I love it how outraged people get over common practices that the government has always done. Get a life.

It's called buying the media to hide the truth and slam the opposition.

It sure didn't work for Hillary.
But I don't see Horgan appealing to people who just want jobs (ie everyone, except the most social of SJWs) like Trump did, so Christy has little (nothing) to fear.
