They are only a few seats behind the Liberals.
Just do not vote Green.
Looking at how the 2 parties that have run the Province over last 27 years, I could see a protest vote for Greens happening.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

It's time that people realized that money alone will not solve the problems. People need to start helping themselves and not expecting everyone else to do it for them. Children should be the responsibility of parents and family not someone else.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

Yes, funding for natives is federal but
The whole social care system is provincial.
The province, under CClark, has put hundreds of native kids in foster care,
Not much different from the old residential schools.

where is your link, and why did they have to put them in foster care.. Why are their parents and grandparents not looking after them.It is time to stop blaming govt,. and get the natives to look after the kids.

Re: BC Libs fail at funding for First Nation kids
From what I can tell, and I have not gone into this issue in real depth, we are missing something here. The Manitoba NDP government had exactly the same problem, with 80% of foster children in Manitoba being aboriginal.
This article lays the blame at the feet of the federal government, not the provinces. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/indigenous-kids-made-up-almost-half-of-canadian-foster-children-in-2011statscan/article29616843/
7% of the children under 14 are aboriginal, yet 48% of the children in foster care are aboriginal.
I think it is more complex than that, and that wrangling over finger pointing is counterproductive. There are 3 players involved, and each has a role to play in resolving what is an unacceptable situation.
Anecdotally I have lived in two regions of the province with high aboriginal populations. One group was prosperous and appeared to have far fewer problems of this sort. The other group, well, some sad stories. Both would have had the same levels of funding.

Re: BC Libs fail at funding for First Nation kids
When you have two separate governments either supplying the money, or supplying the resources, you will end up with dysfunction. Now throw in unique rights and laws depending on race into the mix just for good measure. It's no wonder there is a problem.
Anyone suggesting the NDP would do better hasn't paid enough attention to the issue. Hint... there was no difference when the NDP were in power, none. NDP run provinces have the same issue as BC.

It is the deaths in foster care that is very puzzling and sad.

Re: BC Libs fail at funding for First Nation kids
What ever happened to people taking responsibility for their own kids and actually raising them?
Who cares what race, creed, color or gender you are. If you have kids be a parent and don't expect others to help you. If you need 2 jobs then get 2 jobs.
Don't wait for someone to bail you out. There are resources out there to help us all.

The report clearly identified a lack of resources for native children.
really? well as far as iam concerned the Natives get billions of tax payers money every year so maybe they should man up and start looking out for their own people same as I look out for myself and family
why is always the fault of government why is never the fault of the Native????????
