Wading into a trade war
Christy really put her foot in it this time. All that tough talk about how she's going to go to bat for British Columbians was a huge election campaign mistake. Her handlers are getting so scared that their photo op princess is going to lose this time that they're inventing the most ridiculous press releases for her.
Nobody but the most rabid of her fans would think that poking the elephant next door while simultaneously putting Canada in a bad position is a smart move. Besides, this is a federal matter, and the feds don't need some arrogant, politically motivated, lightweight provincial premier to start making things even more difficult than they already are.

Re: Wading into a trade war
On the first day Christy said "we will fight for you. And, we will not give up."
On the second day she said something to the effect of "This needs to be calm. Cooler heads need to prevail,"
On the third day she says she wants to ban thermal coal. :
"gives us the freedom to do what I think is unquestionably the right thing."
"That coal, most of it is American, but not all of it that's shipped through our ports is dirty. It fouls the air. It fouls the oceans.
It's terrible for the environment."
"But now that they have slapped a duty on Canada and they're calling us names, we're free to take an action that's long
overdue."
I wonder what her friend Jim Pattison thinks ? He lost $64 million in stock value on the 4th day.

Excellent question. I think both candidates should remember their places in the big picture and leave this in Federal hands where it belongs.

Horgan knows, as do most Canadians except Christy Clark, that it's too late for threats by the BC Premier. All she's doing is making things more difficult for the Feds to negotiate. She had two years to state her case to the US, but she thought because Trump is a known skirt chaser that she could wait and use her 'vampness' on him.
Isn't there anyone in the BC Liberal party that could have told Christy when to put a sock in it.
