I got it, the MLA's that force another Provincial election in BC. Should be forced to hand over 44 million it will cost, you want an election you pay for it (out of your own pocket)
Because taxpayers already paid for a Provincial election.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

I don't get it. Before the election, Christy was against free bridge tolls, saying it would cost BC its credit rating.

Now she's all for it? Libs have spent 15 years fighting against everything they promised in the throne speech. How can anyone take them seriously?

Reminds me of someone who's drowning... Clutching and grasping for anything that might save them. She doesn't care about anything but staying in power. Not for the families of BC. Just her position of power. Even Hulk Horgan will be a welcome change.

The benefit of being a centrist, a small ‘l’ liberal, is the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. The voters have spoken and the BC Liberals have received the message loud and clear. They will adapt their policies to best deliver what the voters want.

Ideologues of both the left and right are incapable of change; they are so fixated, so attached to their core beliefs it makes them unable to adapt to the changing needs and wants of voters and the shifting world structure those beliefs are based upon.

Very good Throne Speech. Basically pulls the carpet out from under the NDP and Greens on many of their policy items. It is not a desperate grasp to maintain power as some say, there is no hope of that and the Liberals know it; it is a the first step towards re-building their party and regaining power.

Later next week they will no doubt shuffle themselves over to the opposition benches and sit back to watch the inevitable chaos that will ensue.

The NDP have been incapable of even getting a second mandate so how, I ask you, will they survive long in a coalition?

^^How can you be so hypocritical by saying the ChristyLiberals have 'adjusted' when they have taken almost every single proposal made by the NDP and Greens? That they fought against for months leading up to their dismal showing on May 9???

I have do doubt it will be a short run. I also have no doubt that not a single one of these promises has any merit. It's just prep for the next election. Green/NDP voters likely won't change their vote. Green/Lib voters likely will if they perceive the liberals as adopting certain green policies. But I don't think anyone is gullible enough to believe that for a second.

The adjustment is real, they are proposing a mix of policy from all the plans. Not to stay in power now, but to be in power again in a year when the NDP manage to tank things. I do think some of the people that matter are noting it isn't going to be clear sailing anymore on one set of values vs another, more and more people are getting rounded out.

It's also why the NDP don't have a mandate, fiscal ineptitude won't win votes and in those ares they need to "adjust" as well, but won't.

This is just long game politics, but FF you only see grabbing the throne next week for a year, they are looking how to get it back for another 10-16 years.

Actually FF, they pretty much took a list from the Greens, who actually had a proper platform, and nada from the NDP. Pretty much what I said I would like to see during the election - half of the Green platform and half of the Liberal platform - and none of the NDP pretend platform.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

You're prostituting yourself if you listen to the voters and adjust your policies? And when you try to work with other parties? All of a sudden you want Clark to take the "my way or the highway" approach because you think it would help your NDP. She's kind of raining on the NDP parade at the moment and you don't like that.

One of the NDP talking points, which you're repeating, is that the Liberals lost the election. Of course those of us who were paying attention know that the Liberals received more votes and elected more MLA's than any other party but Horgan wants us to believe that finishing second means you win while finishing first means you lose. He's repeating that over and over and thereby hoping that people forget the actual election results.

You mean like Horgan with his deal with Weaver, and yet here is Clark giving weaver what he wants. She's giving reasons to vote on the Liberal side without a "backroom deal" and Horgan has already publicly reneged on the deal he did make.

They made a political move that out maneuvers the NDP and the best rebuttal or suggestion you have was to call basically call the PM a *bleep*, when their own choice for PM has already been worse.

This is a good indication why the NDP will lose power within a year and not see it again for another decade.....that's best rebuttal it's members and supporters can make.

I'm now pretty comfortable having Mr Horgan and Mr Weaver over to my weekly poker game, but I'm hoping Ms Clark has a previous engagement.

I think John Whoregan is the one prostituting. He slept with Weaver and made a deal, then ran to the unions a few days later and promised the opposite. Whoregan will sleep with anyone. He's a socialist disease.

On the other hand, Christy is an honest and open politician. If another election happens, and she gets a majority, she'll follow through on the promises she's made. Fer shure. A billion for daycare, no more tolls on the bridges, millions for new schools. And still manages to balance the budget. A politician for the ages.
