The guy who engineered and financed Campbell's elevation to the premiership of BC, David McLean, was at the time chairman of the board of CN Rail and desperately wanted to add BC Rail to the CN network and somehow, wink, wink, got Campbell to sell it to him for supposedly $1 billion, lock stock and barrel, but no accounting as to whether that $1 billion was ever received or benefited BC in any way, shape or form. McLean also benefited from Christy Clark in many ways but primarily in the $500,000 a year she paid, with our money, his helicopter company Blackcomb to fly her and her friends all over the place. Both Clark and Campbell should be in jail along with their benefactors but the provincially overpaid RCMP seem be suffering from a bad case of bilaterial orchidectomy.

The Tyee likes stirring the pot.
The other parts of the story are old news.
From the article (my bold)
snip
The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEG) concluded that Active Earth Engineering was not in a conflict of interest when it prepared environmental studies for a waste dump while discussing plans to share in the project’s profits.

Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Thank goodness somebody 'stirs the pot' in B.C. The MSM certainly isn't going to print any 'inconvenient truths' about certain politicians in this province. Without the Tyee, the Common Sense Canadian, the Straight, etc., British Columbians would be nothing but a crop of mushrooms........kept in the dark and fed a steady diet of manure.

More like the Tyee spreads and continues conspiracy theories.
An obsession with past mistakes (yes, I think selling BC Rail was a mistake) does nothing to move things forward. Nor does spinning conspiracy theories about it. The reality is that there was a "privatization" fad in Canadian politics, and BC Rail got caught up in that. Thank goodness that fad has pretty much ended.
Well, except for the current fad of wind and solar - that's a doosey.

The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.
