So, what's your point? The RCMP are boogey men/women? There are always two sides to the story. Perhaps the alleged thief was a little mouthpiece of a *bleep* and a smack up the side of the head should have been the worse of his worries...
I've seen a German Shepard pop a tennis ball( easily) with the ball between his canines. Lots of power there so I'd be thinking a little assault is better than a service dog attaching itself to you.

I would bet the perp was mouthing off and saying rude things so the cop punched him. Good cop. Hope he gets off.
