Trans mountain installs anti spawning mats
The National Energy Board is issuing a stern warning to the company building the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion for installing mats in streams to discourage fish from spawning where the pipeline is to be built.

Kick KM out of Canada and back to Texas. Don't we have enough trouble with the decrease of spawning fish? Who do they think they are? And why is the NEB simply giving them a 'stern warning'? Good grief!

Re: Trans mountain installs anti spawning mats
In a letter on its website, the regulator orders the company building the line from Edmonton to Burnaby, B.C., to stop installing the mats until it has obtained all approvals from the board to allow the start of construction.
In a blog dated Sept. 12 on the project website, Trans Mountain describes the “innovative use of snow fencing” in streams to protect spawning salmon and trout.
It says its biologists are already temporarily laying the fencing on the bottom of some sections of streambed during spawning season if they are to be intersected by pipeline construction right-of-way.
Greenpeace Canada energy strategist Keith Stewart says it’s hard to believe that Trans Mountain owner Kinder Morgan didn’t know or failed to check to see if its anti-spawning strategy was allowed.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

My last comment was a reply to your previous comment about the federal NDP government. But while we're on the subject of streams and rivers, how about that criminal case regarding the Lemon Creek disaster 4+ years ago finally showing up in court?

Better run to the store for more popcorn. Your buddies just lost another appeal, this time with the Coldwater Indian Band. When are they going to stop throwing good money after bad? They should go back to Texas or Alberta where nobody cares about the environment.

I've supported sending KM back to Texas. Do you agree with that? I doubt it.
