What a lie this is. Again just a fraudulent tag line comment with no reality behind it. No one was made to walk and your hate for the disabled is disgusting.

I'm certainly glad for the increases in funding and transportation the clients in the health care fields I personally worked in received actual money themselves to make choices and options for travels instead of a small fraction that was allowed buses in Vancouver.

Many are often even told they aren't allowed on any bus as well, but lets not let the OP disgust for the disabled get in the way of partisan comments.

What about disabled persons who drive ? Do they get the $52 too ? Why do we have to hand out 70 million cash , when we can just issue a bus pass to disabled persons who apply for one ?

When you purchase fuel in B.C., you pay fuel tax. If you have a qualifying disability, the fuel tax refund program allows you to request a refund of the provincial motor fuel tax you paid in B.C. on fuel you used in a vehicle you own or lease.

If you qualify, you’re eligible for a fuel tax refund of up to $500 each calendar year.

ETA - when the $77 increase came into effect, PWD recipients who drove received the full amount. The amount was reduced to $25 for those who chose the annual bus pass.

No government was making them walk. It was a personal choice of each person on disability whether to get the annual bus pass or not. Those who travelled on a regular basis bought the annual pass. The ones who travelled 3 or 4 times a month bought bus tickets.
