Stench from biosolids in rural B.C.

Post by maryjane48 »

A resident of Barnhartvale, a rural community in Kamloops, B.C., is worried about the possible health risks associated with the stench coming from biosolids spread at a nearby ranch.

Biosolids are organic materials that come from treated sewage and are often used as fertilizer.

"When it was being applied, it was nauseating. It was overwhelming," said Sarah LaBounty, who lives out on Robins Range Road, across from Buse Creek Ranch.

It's pretty rank when applied, it's true. Live next to a ranch and you're gonna smell poop. :138:

Good news is that the smell is greatly reduced after a couple of days and gone after a week.

Fish fertilizer I find is even worse. Might not be so nauseating when 1st applied but the smell lingers for a long time.

You have to wonder why the NDP and John Horgan haven't done anything about this.

Pretty lame of them to allow this to happen.

People in Chilliwack have been putting up with this for decades.
