You have such a hate on for the NDP for some reason that you cannot understand that the Liberals are just as big of hypocrites as the NDP or any other party. It is part of being a politician.
you make promises while in power and break them then when out of power you blame the other party for doing the same thing. just as you are doing now.
Of course no political party has a monopoly on hypocrisy. I've spent the last few years on here making that same point while some of your NDP friends on here have not acknowledged any wrongdoing on the part of their party. That's why I started this thread. NOT to pretend the Liberals aren't sleazy but to make the point that the NDP are as well. I'm glad that you agree but many of your NDP friends on here pretend otherwise.

^^ The problem is that the NDP thieves say they are "for the little guy" and then steal from the little guy to pad their own wallets, pay for cronie quangos, pay for their bankrupt party.

The NDP are so incompetent they can't even manage their own party finances! So the NDP want to steal taxpayers money to pay for their incompetent and bankrupt party!

The Liberals did indeed do a few hypocritical things - but at least they were competent hypocrites.

The NDP are messing up their own party by fighting an unconstitutional battle against the interests of the Alberta NDP. The BC NDP are such goofs they can't even support their own party!

Bingo!

That's exactly why I've detested that party for years. They always "pretend" to be for the little guy while they pick his pockets clean, while they try and convince him it's for the good. They just don't specify that it's for "their own good" as they empty the public trough, then blame lack of funds to pay for important stuff on the previous government.

The NDP is a vile leopard that will never change its spots. The only cure is extermination, and they know this, which is why they've come up with a disgusting plan to have tax payers fund their corrupt party, as it's about the only way by which they can ensure survival.

On Hydro, B.C. Premier John Horgan borrows a trick from the Liberal repertoire
VICTORIA

When he sat on the opposition benches, John Horgan blasted the Liberal government of the day for using an accounting sleight of hand to mask the deteriorating state of BC Hydro's balance sheet.

Now he is Premier, however, and his government has promised a BC Hydro rate freeze next year that will be funded through the very same technique he criticized: loading up the so-called "deferral accounts" to spend money now, and leave the bills to be paid by ratepayers some other day.

In a legislature debate in May, 2016, Mr. Horgan explained what was wrong with that tactic: "Under the BC Liberal watch, it's now heading towards $6-billion of deferring debt, not for this generation and not for the people incurring the cost, but for future generations."

Future generations of Hydro ratepayers already face a tremendous burden.

The Crown-owned utility that provides electricity to 95 per cent of the province is on weak financial footing, with an aging infrastructure that requires costly upgrades, plus $5.6-billion (at last count) in deferral accounts.

The NDP's promised rate freeze will add another $140-million to the rate-smoothing account (one of the many deferral accounts) that continues to grow because rates haven't kept up with the Crown corporation's real revenue requirements.

The accounting shuffle isn't unique to BC Hydro. In October, Ontario's Auditor-General found that the Liberal government is using inappropriate accounting to keep billions of dollars in red ink off the public books to conceal the financial impact of cutting electricity bills by 25 per cent.

But the problem with BC Hydro's practices have been charted for years – B.C.'s Auditor-General first called out the deferral accounts in 2011, describing them as a smokescreen that creates the illusion of profit when there is none.

The NDP, while in opposition, piled on to denounce the practice.

Adrian Dix (now the minister of health) wrote to the Auditor-General last year, calling the use of rate-smoothing accounts "an audacious attempt" to fool the public. "They are essentially taking unapproved revenue from [future years] and applying [them] to the present fiscal year, providing a misleading impression of BC Hydro's and the government's finances."

Utilities commission mulls government’s request for rate freeze by B.C. Hydro
NOVEMBER 16, 2017 10:21 PM

B.C.’s independent utilities commission will meet next week to begin considering the NDP government’s request for a freeze on electricity rates, a move that further illustrates how the rate cut is far from a done deal.

The commission could then decide to accept, reject or alter the government’s request to cancel a planned three per cent Hydro rate increase set for April 1, 2018.
The one-year rate freeze was an NDP election promise.

However, Energy Minister Michelle Mungall attracted heavy criticism last week for announcing the freeze as if it were already approved, before the government had applied to the commission for permission.
“They told the public one thing and that wasn’t factual,” Liberal critic Mike Bernier said Thursday.
Green Leader Andrew Weaver has accused Mungall of issuing a misleading press release and called on her to publicly correct the record that no rate freeze has been approved.

NDP Agriculture Minister Lana Popham “the minister of intimidation” after she wrote a threatening letter to a salmon farm.

Transportation Minister Claire Trevena became “the minister of gridlock.”

Jobs Minister Bruce Ralston was re-named “the minister of job loss.”

Horgan was tagged “the minister of defence” after he stood up to answer questions directed at his own cabinet ministers when things got too hot.

Sooo, the |NDP are continuing the very practice that the Auditor General called into question waaay back: https://www.bcauditor.com/sites/default/files/publications/files/Report_Presentation_0.pdf

But, there is a way forward to start chopping into those deferral accounts:

https://www.bchydro.com/content/dam/BCHydro/customer-portal/documents/corporate/regulatory-planning-documents/revenue-requirements/2016-07-21-bch-f16-da-ann-rpt.pdf

Notice this line:

". Higher IPP costs are primarily
due to higher deliveries from one large IPP, higher biomass IPP output and higher wind IPP deliveries."

Yup, time to stop the bleeding. Build site C, and tell the IPPs to make like the sheep...
