What do you think will happen when the area gets taken over by wind farms and solar projects?

It'll create lots of jobs, cleaning snow off of solar arrays, and picking up dead birds.

If all you're worried about is job loss, scroll down to the "More jobs from alternative energy" portion of the article.
I would be worried if I had one of those jobs, because the only reason it exists is because it's being subsidized by gullible governments and supported by losers who can't do math. Not very "sustainable" when every single MW being generated is costing the taxpayers boatloads of cash.

^^Bunch of those jobs are in the "conservation" category. You know, those folks who go door to door to tell us how to reduce our energy use.
They're suggesting we'll need more of these folk in the future if we don't build Site C.
Heck, I'd rather get Site C built and then pay for more folk to work in health and education fields. Crazy talk, I know, when we're being offered this golden opportunity to make sure we'll have tons of folk employed in the energy conservation sector instead. Oh, and picking up birds and bats, and clearing off those solar panels. And replacing wind turbines and solar panels.
Yep, crazy.

^^I thought fear-mongering was not your style. Also, why would you want short term gain for long term pain?

Telling the truth is not fear mongering.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

The "green" economy jobs myth is just that. Jobs in China making solar panels. The "green" jobs in BC include all BC Hydro workers because hydroelectric is green and renewable. The workers at site C have "green" jobs because they are building a renewable energy project.
The circular logic of the anti site C Luddites just amazes me.

I agree with GB. Green jobs are not stable or enough being created to warrant the enormous coast to coast carbon tax. Although the liberals may have promised millions of green jobs all they have given us is pure evil burden.
“Now, 28,854 jobs isn’t nothing. It’s worse than nothing. Because it works out to just about US$725,000 spent per job “created” — money taxed away from more productive investments. In the net, jobs were lost.”

this is the same question I ask every dumb-dumb that pushes solar and wind power.

Better question is why don't you want short term pain for long term gain. That's what building dams accomplish. Proven over and over and over and over.......
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Exactly. We have to forget about "ourselves" and our "personal feelings" and start thinking about what is best for the province and everyone in for the present and the future. Nothing can match site C for long term gain.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

^^ I don't consider a project that started out being estimated at less than $7B, then escalating to $10B after just two years of construction, then estimated at much more by the time it's completed (if it ever is, considering those unstoppable tension cracks) 'long term gain'. There has been some short term gain due to BC Hydro's contractors defoliating the entire region and moving dirt in a vain attempt to stop the north slope from sliding into the river, but that's about it. When you think about it, that's not even 'short term gain' because we've spent over $2B in the meantime that we'll never get back.

We will get it back if the current government allows it. If they cancel it we all will lose 4+ Billion just for filling in a hole that was already started.

No, we won't get it back, whether construction is cancelled or continued. Site C is a huge money pit that is gobbling up millions of our tax dollars daily; money that we'll never get back. I'll find the interview with Dr. Harry Swain, chair of the JRP, and get back to you.

Re: What will Horgan do with Site C?
Breaking news there is no tax money being put into site C. Not one single penny.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.
