Diluted bitmun tar sand oil .natural gas leak can be a danger because of explosion but we all have shut off valves a homeowner can shut off themselves
We cant just shutoff a oilpipe line . We have to wait till endbridge or km gets around to it after a leak is discovered

Diluted bitumen. Its a catch phrase for heavy oil that has been treated so it will flow. They use some pretty strong chemicals to thin it out.
That being said.
Still safer in a pipe under ground.

The pipe line company tells land owners if they get stuck on the right of way to stop and call them they will come and locate the line and pull you out if need be. This is what happens when people think they know where the line is. I think that in some cases with farm equipment that has GPS the pipeline company and farmer could do a better job.

This is an oil by rail thread. The link you posted is about natural gas. There is a difference you know.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

From your article ...
Matt Krogh, a campaign director for environmental group Stand.earth, said in an interview that he agreed that people should call a company before digging or doing work around an active gas line.
... so people started digging around an active gas line and didn't call Kinder to notify them but it's Kinder's fault? That's quite a spin, even for you.
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

From the article posted.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said two tractors got stuck, and one hit the pipeline, a Dow Jones report stated. It said the two killed were found dead at the scene and area residents rushed the other two injured to hospital.
