An Alternative Energy would first have to be conducted, that should take 3 years, and then would have to followed by in house study group, and that should take another year, and then the NDP would have to conduct a viability study, that will take another year...........oooppppsssss....time is up .......they will be voted out again by that time.

Then the Liberals will come back and have to clean up the whole mess left behind by the NDP. When the NDP goes down on their sinking ferry, they will suck the Green party down with them.

CF - if you follow things instead of making assumptions, you might be a little suspicious of Roland Wilson and his viewpoints, and what is behind them. The courts certainly are, and under his leadership the West Moberley have a record of losing court action after court action.

Note that there is another (much larger) band that says that their rights will be impinged by NOT completing site C.

The fundamental thing with all major projects is that there will always be winners and losers. The same applies with FNs, especially in the very fragmented situation with FNs in BC. Some FNs will find benefit from projects, some will agitate to get benefits, some will see no benefit, and some may see a negative.

Much of that is not for us to determine. That's really the case throughout society as a whole. There will ALWAYS be someone who is against something for a variety of reasons, some of which can be irrational, some of which is self interest, and sometimes just because that's what they do - protest against everything. A society is not built on protest, but must allow for it. Someone's self interest will always be trodden upon by what is good for society.

In the case of the OP, it is entirely correct to say that some FNs have been left empty handed in part by the actions of professional protestors (some of whom have pecuniary interests that do not line up with their so called protest position) and by permanent protestors who belong to the 'Green" religious sect.

Seems like both provincial and federal courts don't agree with the West Moberly or you.
More than likely their just po'ed that they are just a little to far away to get a big payout

*removed* .the courts dont rule reserves lol the rule on whitemans actions . But the facts are the courts havent ruled on treatys of lack there of yet . They only ruled on if clawrk made an attept to get a deal . No deal was reached . The treaty court cases are yet to come :130:

I am sick and tired of your racist BS, none of your posts are worth reading simply because of that. If I were to call a native red skin or an African blacks I would be banned. Time for you to go live in the real world for a change.

I have been following things HG, and what I gleaned from everything I've read regarding Mr. Ross and Mr.Wilson is that they have common goals but different ways of obtaining them.

Yup. Ross wants his people to be independent and stand on their own two feet. Wilson wants his people to rely on hush money, and welfare - while he jets off to Vienna.

Interesting how the objective of both chiefs can be seen narrowly as monetary gain (which of course both chiefs want for their bands), or more broadly as an entire paradigm shift providing the band with not only monetary gain, but a great deal more. Some chiefs beat heavily on the drum of "victim done wrong needing compensation through other agencies" while others encourage "self-sufficiency, negotiating compensation through our own business acumen and productivity".

To me the biggest question isn't what they say, but what they do. A good leader can provide a way forward and also motivate her people to move in that direction. A good leader doesn't drag her people along, against their will.

Additionally, and unrelated to anyone mentioned here, in situations where there it is easy for people to be self-serving while acting as leader, far too many do. It is somewhat understandable as often there is huge pressure from outside forces to do so, but if the actions of a leader benefit herself more than the majority of people she represents, she has been a corrupt leader.
