When Clark ordered ING not to be reviewed

Post by maryjane48 »

The all-chiefs rubric for the coming summit builds on the theme of a “chief-to-chief” meeting that Clark held on May 1 with Chief Sharleen Gale of the Fort Nelson First Nation.

The session was prompted by a bureaucratic blunder where the government exempted natural gas development from proper environmental review without bothering to consult the affected First Nations beforehand.

On learning of the order on the eve of a native-organized forum on the LNG industry, Chief Gale fired back by expelling provincial officials — including cabinet ministers Rustad and Rich Coleman — from the forum, then announcing a moratorium on further natural gas development within the band’s traditional territory.

The Liberals immediately rescinded the offending order, insisting it was a mistake. Still, Chief Gale said the show of disrespect to her people would be placated by nothing less than a face-to-face meeting with the premier. Clark obliged by reworking her schedule on the eve of a seven-day trade mission to Asia.

Now here we see exactly what and how the bclibs treated first nations and their land .mr ross would be well advised to rethink his position before his band figures out how he has tried to sell them out. I know lots people from there and they are not happy with mr ross and his lies

And there we have it folks. Everything and anything bad that has ever happened to First Nations is the BC liberals fault.

Again, MJ, where did you get this quote from? You usually post sources. I understand that you did not write it, it came from somewhere.

And should this not be in the LNG thread?
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Truthfully, MJ didn't say that. What has happened is MJ published a portion of an article that highlights how the FN were initially by-passed in favour of corporate interests, by the BCliberals.

MJ didn't write the damned article.

Admittedly I had to google Mr. Ross, BC Liberals. I got this, he was handpicked by Christy Clark and won the Skeena Riding.
So okay now.

MJ, once again you are being asked about libelous statements, how did Ellis Ross lie and about what exactly? If you have proof positive, please publish it here.

How did Ellis Ross try to "sell out the FN" up in the Skeena. You have to have something specific here. :135:

Interesting in regard to the same chief: https://www.vancouverobserver.com/news/after-kicking-out-government-officials-industry-summit-fort-nelson-first-nation-signs-lng-camp

Nothing is ever as simplistic as MJ would like to paint it. The world is shades of grey, not black and white.

What you all dont know is i know other people on the bands council and i talk to them from time to time . My friends mom is on there . Things are never as they seem :130: :smt045

Anyways we see from this article clark was willing to ignore first nation concerns on enviroment and that puts mr ross in bed with a reckless party and heading towards corruption

Ever heard of negotiating tactics? The chief is out for the best deal and maximum control for her band. Has to do something for her $91,000/yr salary + $33,600/yr expense account.
