Good on the previous Liberal government for launching this task force.

From your link,

The task force was launched in 2016 by the previous Liberal government, as part of a guns and gangs strategy designed to curb rising public shooting incidents in Metro Vancouver, and Surrey in particular. In 2015, police seized 3,000 illegal firearms while investigating 2,000 incidents that involved the criminal use of firearms

Yes we should thank the liberals.
Maybe the title of this thread should be changed as the link clearly states this was started by the former liberal government.

And if the NDP started it there would be 20 years of reviews before anything might get done. As usual the NDP are just implementing things the liberals started and taking credit for doing nothing. And the brain dead just eat it up.

As usual you prove you have no comprehension of what you read. The liberal initiated task force made recommendations, now the NDP have to study the crap out of it ( in their usual manner ). No laws have been passed nothing has really been done at all but some people just have keep congratulating the NDP for doing nothing.

Yup, Farnworth, NDPer

The task force produced 37 recommendations, including legislation modelled on Quebec’s mass shooting and firearms violence law, as well as better coordination among police agencies and expanded public education programs in schools.

Farnworth said the government will immediately begin working on four recommendations, which will expand the existing Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit to lead a provincial illegal-firearms strategy as well as create a central firearms intelligence hub to analyze data from police agencies and partners.

B.C. will also “actively press the federal government” for its share of $327 million in federal funding to fight against guns and gangs that was announced Nov. 17, the province said in a news release.

Layering more regulations on law-abiding firearms owners will do nothing to stop criminals. In fact, it makes it easier for criminals to carry out their activities with no fear of retaliation.

But it sure makes the dense-minded leftists feel warm and fuzzy. That is, until a criminal shoves a gun in their face and robs them.

Unfortunately if the baddies want a firearm, they will get one. No shortage of access to whatever you want if you have the cash.

This is the truth. At the end of the day u can build a gun with out many tools or skills. I know its not common here. But it has been done. The vietcon were known to build guns . Using nails for firing pins. Etc.

North koreans as well i would imagine.

We will never come close to eliminating crime guns. In fact. They will only multiply. Lots of guns built 100 years ago still function perfectly. Nearly every gun ever made is still in service or in a case somewhere.

Why people are so scared of guns is beyond me . Do u fear lightning ? What about water. Im fairly sure more drownings than shooting deaths.

Having been on the wrong end of a gun once. I would love to see less guns in the hands of robbers. I dont think its ever gonna happen.

The fact that we will never get rid of crime guns. Leads me to believe. Everyone should be prepared to defend themself. I support stand your ground laws.

If we set a training requirement beyond a simple firearms safety course, I would definitely be more supportive of stand your ground laws.

As it is now though, most gun owners aren't trained or capable of employing a firearm within a tactical environment without it essentially posing more of a public safety risk.
