Re: Ice on the Coq
We drove to Kelowna from Vancouver yesterday, and what really got me was the amount of people who didn't turn on their headlights. It's like people don't realize that they're completely invisible from the back as day time running lights don't work on rear lights. So dangerous in a blinding snow storm.
We had our "Highway Thru Hell" moment when Al Quiring drove by to rescue a semi that had neglected to chain up. Would have been extra cool if said semi hadn't been blocking the highway for 75 minutes, lol.

Dizzy 1 I disagree strongly with the first part of your post BUT heartily agree with the second part! Drivers need to literally "get a grip" and slow down, and road maintenance needs to up their game A LOT!
There are always those that don't drive to road conditions, but its extremely tiring to hear that argument over and over by those who think that thats the only thing that matters.
Yep! It's a combo of situations - bad drivers in normal winter conditions, good drivers on really bad winter roads, but definitely slow snow removal/sand maintenance of roads is a huge contributor in my mind.

You conjured up something.
I recall a song, I believe sung by the "Kettle Valley Brakemen"
I could not find it though.
The verse; " And when you head up Coquihalla way, You best be going in
the light of day"
and then something about the "frights at night"...
Wish I could find the tune.
"Don't 'p' down my neck then tell me it's raining!"

I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.
