The gang war consisting of "People Known to the Police" is out of control. It is more valuable to protect their civil rights rather than round them up and the public consisting of innocent people is the at risk for the on-slaught of violence we've seen lately.

Our lack of safety is the price for their civil rights to be observed and protected.

That is what is going on in BC.

ETA: An extremely sad up-date to the story of gangsters running around killing "each other" which has no spread to the general public.

Rest in Peace to the fifteen year old, this should never have happened.

Instead of looking for the one gangster who did it, all their civil rights need to be suspended and they all need to be rounded up. IMO only. Someone will cry now that I've said it. Where's Jflem?

I went down to South America last year and wondered how safe it was before I went.

Newsflash, it's safer than Canada.

Is there any more proof needed that whatever our justice and law enforcement officials are doing is not working?

I'm thinking twice about even visiting Vancouver anymore.

Oh yeah, check out the twitchers selling dope at Robson Square.

What a joke of a city.

You really have to wonder if we have stupid cops, stupid prosecutors, or if everyone who's job it is to keep the rest of us safe is completely hamstrung by this stupid Charter of Rights and lawyers who just can't wait to use it to keep criminals on the streets.

I was talking to someone today about Mexico and how there is a warning to Canadians about traveling to some parts.

It’s media sensationalism. Why isn’t there a travel advisory for Surrey?

Even the old wild west had more justice than we have now. At least they enforced the laws. Even if we do catch these people many are let out because they wait too long for their trial. Who cares if they wait their whole lifetime. it should be like driving a car and jail time should be automatic if you get so any points. Known to police would mean going to prison. Shooting an innocent 15 year old should mean going to your grave.

Too bad we could not tie the freedom of judges and lawyers to the future crimes of criminals they get/let off and let them spend some time thinking about their actions.

Kash Heed made an interesting comment on the news today. He said when this stuff happens, there's a brouhaha for a little while and then it all dies out. And it's true. Gun violence is getting worse in the Lower Mainland. It's just a matter of time before it starts happening more often in the Okanagan. Charges are being thrown out because cases are taking too long to go to court.

It seems like BC really is a Gangsta's Paradise.
