Given lunatic Trump's goading of the equally crazy leader of North Korea, and the recent 'mistakes' in Hawaii and Japan, do you think Canada should have agreed to host this summit?

Chrystia Freeland and her U.S. counterpart, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, are co-hosting the one-day gathering in Vancouver......
Despite that military representation, officials insist the goal of the summit is to find ways to tone down the escalating — "my nuclear button is bigger than your nuclear button" — rhetoric.

A government source speaking on background, said ministers will focus on alternate paths forward, amid the rapidly changing situation.

As CBC News reported on Friday, that message is not only aimed at North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, but is also at members of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration.

See if the subtle message gets across to the Trump administration.

Lunatics. The only people who aren't afraid of them are either like-minded or born yesterday.

The media has done a fantastic job of instilling fear into the weak minded and the liberal sheeple. A sad state of affairs.

I'm not convinced that this particular meeting will help the situation any, but on the other hand I don't see how it can hurt.

Talking about ways to resolve the issue is better than just sitting back and allowing things to continue to escalate, so it's worth a try. That said though, I have to wonder about the reasoning behind not inviting China and Russia to the meeting.

It is indeed unfortunate and definitely leaves the summit with less credibility.

Without China and Russia the summit was just another example of wasting taxpayer money. Can't even begin to imagine the cost to send, feed and house representatives from Britain, France, Australia, India, USA and Canada - to achieve exactly what?

Looks like a nice verbal *bleep* to the US. Nothing will be solved but hey, we'll LOOK like we're trying to solve the problem. All part of the awesomeness of Trudeau and his pack of imbeciles, imho.

The only two countries with borders on North Korea, Russia and China, were not invited.

Pretty sure South Korea has a border in there somewhere too...
