But who has the money ? Who administers the taxpayer funded rebates ?

They borrowed from ICBC to pretend a balanced budget.

Now we will all pay one way another.

ICBC is the issue in the byelection.

I guess some need reminding the NDP also raided crown corporations, only significant difference I can think of, is that they couldn't balance the budget despite doing so.

Peanuts compared to the Liberals who were intentionally
running ICBC into the ground to help switch to private insurance.
Private insureres did a horrendous job pre ICBC and do nt deserve
To get the reins, again.

Vote accordingly in the byelection.

If everyone voted for anyone but the NDP, that would definitely send a strong message that it's time for a change. Once the horrid and stupid NDP is gone forever, we can start to effect some real change, but the horrible boogey-man must go first. Bye bye NDP!

And go back to the horrid and stupid ChristyLiberals who lied themselves OUT of power???

You have proven that you cannot ever fix a STUPID liberal supporter!!
Why do people who fancy themselves "fiscal conservatives" not scream at hidden debt accumulated in the past dozen years? Or, do they only object to spending on social programs?

And you've proven that NDP supporters have selective memory, and will stoop to any level to rewrite history.

For example, the Christy Liberals won the election, and a far more accurate description of current circumstances, is that Weaver and Horgan lied themselves into power, both equally guilty in that department.

Carry on with the hypocrisy now, and proving what liars NDP supporters are!

Seeing how you are the resident expert on the "dark ages" , can you remind us how much the NDP took from ICBC and when ? Also , were they raising premiums at the same time ?

It’s unfortunate that, instead of discussing ways to resolve the problems with ICBC, this thread has degenerated into the usual arguments between Liberal and NDP supporters. Surely we can all agree that BOTH Governments played a role in creating the situation ICBC finds itself in today, even though it’s true that the Liberals share the largest portion of the blame.

That said, it’s no use “crying over spilt milk”. What we need to focus on now are solutions. Some say that privatization is the answer, yet many of those same folk are also opposed to the “no fault” system which privatization would surely usher in. So It appears folks like that haven’t really thought their position through to it’s logical conclusion.

For my part, all I want are affordable premiums (something we don’t currently have). I also want to be re-Imbursed for my actual expenses should I be involved in an accident. That includes the cost of vehicle repairs, medical expenses and, if applicable, lost wages. But NOT pain and suffering, because it is impossible to put a dollar figure on that. Such claims generate more work for lawyers and higher insurance premiums for us all, yet do absolutely nothing to relieve actual pain and suffering.

Despite that, under most “no fault” systems, such claims against the other driver are still allowed for major injuries. It is only when the injuries are minor that pre-determined amounts are paid out by your own insurer regardless of which driver is at fault. Which is fine with me, because provided all my actual costs are covered, I would consider my insurance to have served it’s purpose. I can’t afford to keep paying ever higher premiums just so I can have the satisfaction of extracting some sort of financial recompense from an “at fault” driver. The fact is that no amount of money is going to take away my pain and suffering. Such claims against other drivers are merely a way of extracting some sort of revenge against someone who caused you harm. But revenge doesn’t ease pain or reduce suffering, and I can’t afford to keep paying ever higher premiums just for the privilege of extracting revenge.

Just saw on the morning news (BT) that the cars in question in this video are all Richmond RCMP working in gang investigations.

I think it makes this video worse imo lol

The Lieberals raided much of ICBC profit,
To make themselves look good.
Did not work.

What, still no proof of NDP raiding or amounts?

In, byelection, vote anything but Lieberal.
They are actually a Conservative party!
