Brush with killer whales

The only unusual thing about this story is that it happened near a populated area. Robson Bight on eastern Vancouver Island has been a favourite 'rubbing beach' for Orcas for as long as I can remember. Mariners are likely the only humans to witness the whales' activity there. I've heard about another rubbing beach on a small island off the north tip of Vancouver Island that's also a favourite of killer whales, but have never witnessed them at that location personally.
