R.I.P. Dave. You did more good for British Columbia in three short years than the Socred/BC Liberals did in thirty. Too bad you didn't live to see your beloved ICBC get restored by that other Dave.......Eby.

Dave Barrett was always passionate about his political beliefs and I believe he did his best to make the province a better place. Whether or not he succeeded is a discussion for another time. Now is the time to show respect for someone who was willing to take on the demanding jobs of party leader and premier. Good on him and may he rest in peace.

RIP Mr. Barrett.

A hard working politician who made an impact on the province. :130:

Stay classy folks....and try not to start bashing each others politics.
The man has moved on and deserves respect.

We have a lot to be grateful for from Dave Barrett's government - the ALR, Pharmacare, the ICBC concept and welfare reforms.

A true and passionate visionary that made a difference to the quality of our life in BC.

Don't forget the BC Ambulance service, the Seabus and a host of other things B.C.was lacking prior to his leadership. Dave Barrett was and always will be my hero. I was completely clueless about politics until he came along with his chutzpah and great self-effacing humour. I remember the first Barrett rally I attended. He stood on the back of a flat-bed truck in his trenchcoat in the middle of a hotel parking lot. He captivated everyone that day, and became the unlikely idol of a generation of young people. I've always thought Barack Obama must have watched some of Dave's speeches before his second inaugural address......."Yes We Can!" That's what Dave brought to British Columbians back in the 70s.

Truly the ALR has saved much of the Okanagan from becoming the sea of ugly roof tops from stem to stern.

The only reason a few can complain of winery helicopter tours is because they don't look out on to endless backyards, condos and commercial businesses now swallowing up the last green spaces we have left. The inevitable tide of tax base hungered for by city councils everywhere.

Thank God for the visionary ALR!

There is only so much time left for it's demise but at least we have it. :130:

Thank YOU Dave Barrett.

Oh, and those who rage against the evil Socialism should go without Pharmacare and ambulances that don't cost thousands per ride, like in the USA.
