No, they are just saying let's continue transporting it by the most dangerous and inefficient way possible.

Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain is a very dangerous pipeline.
MY ipad is not dangerous.

Thanks for the link, George. The only mistake in that CBC article was when the author called diluted bitumen 'oil'. Even most of the product coming through the existing TM pipeline is dilbit. If it were oil, it wouldn't have to be shipped to WA state to be refined and shipped back to us. Our refineries aren't equipped to refine bitumen.
China, on the other hand, can refine bitumen, and it's cheap. That's why they want that toxic product, and why CAPP is fighting so hard to transport it that way.

^^ the Americans have a plan B to get around the chicken little alarmists.
Ship the dilbit via rail (far more risky) to Hoquiam, load it on tankers, ship it through Juan De Fuca (right past Victoria and the so called "green" strongholds) into Puget Sound and the Salish Sea, and deliver to Ferndale.
All the alarmist chicken little so called greenies will accomplish is to hand all the profit and the jobs to the Americans, drive up gasoline prices in BC - then they can can wave at all the tankers as they go right close to the gulf islands but on the other side of the dotted line on the map.

If you think Horgan's reason for wanting further information on the 'world-class spill response' is political, read this. For those who refuse to read any inconvenient truth about Trudeau's reason for approving the KMX, I'll just give you the gist of this article:
"The NEB conducted an environmental assessment of the KMX project, but the Board does not regulate marine shipping and the increased project-related marine shipping is not part of the project. This is how the Board got around considering impacts on endangered marine species such as the southern resident Orcas, (so) when Trudeau says his government made a 'science-based' decision, you've got to take it with a grain of salt."

Re: Where's Trudeau?
If your goal is to shut down oil and gas development, but your arguments have been consistently debunked and rebutted by scientific facts and empirical evidence, there are two paths you can take:
The first, is to acknowledge that your goals are unsupported by the facts, and move on to another issue about which you feel passionate.
The second, more aggressive path is to pretend that science and facts actually don’t matter, and that evidence contradicting what you desperately want to believe is somehow a personal attack.

Re: Where's Trudeau?
Based on disinformation, the environmental industry has struck like bandits, capturing territory everywhere. They are not criminal terrorists who disrespect human rights; they are economic terrorists who will take down anything in their path in an instinct of self-preservation. They do not care if Canada’s economy suffers, or BC’s, or the Okanagan Valley. They do not care if Canada becomes unable to finance the basic functions of government and social safety nets because economies have been decimated. Someone always provides, right?
They are most emphatically NOT devoted to the betterment of the environment. Please inform us, any one of the thousands of groups that smears and defames and lies about the fossil fuel industry, please show us how you exist without it. Show us your efforts to remove it from your life entirely. We’re waiting.

My 'goal' is to get some people on this thread to stop believing every lie that comes from the Trudeau, McKenna, and Carr propaganda machine. Try reading the link instead of belittling the source.

and perhaps you could follow your own advice and stop believing every lie that comes from the wing-nut crazy enviro propaganda machine websites you follow. At the very least, you could stop looking so foolish parroting these lies, and try to build some semblance of integrity.

Desmog?
Everyone with half a brain knows that marine oil spills can't be cleaned up. But that is a moot point if the risks are mitigated to virtually zero, which is what has been and is being done.
You make no point at all when you resort to quoting the paid propagandists at Desmog. They shovel a LOT of nonsense.

And the only people who believe the Desmog talking points are either corrupt scumbags who are "in on it" with them and shysters who fund the Big Green movement propaganda, or total gullible and mentally ill lunatics who want to wipe out the entire economy, and the enviro-lunacy is a means to an end for them to do just that.
