Cost of BC wine
Let's see here, 17 million bottles shipped to Alberta for 70 million dollars. That works out to $4.12 each! We are either given the wrong (fake) numbers or getting totally ripped off at an average of $20-$30 each that we pay. Any realistic cost figures?

If you're paying $20-$30 per bottle then you're shopping in the wrong store.

That is like comparing wholesale prices to retail.
You have to add in transportation, mark-up, retailer's profit, Taxes, etc, etc.

Maybe they are talking profit and not totals.
$4 is all they are worth though.

I prefer California and a few from Ontario. This is not a short term loss for BC, if this continues for more than a few months, expect new retail channels and supply chains to be set-up where BC wines will be pushed out and wines from other provinces and countries will take their place.
This could then have a ripple affect on new vineyards being developed or ones that are open, they might need new markets or drop prices causing losses.

I worked for a winery, COG is typically 4-$5 regardless of whether the wine is selling for $10,20, or $100 / bottle
