Also, not wanting to change the clocks twice a year, or wanting to change the clocks twice a year IS NOT A LEFT/ RIGHT ISSUE...

Every time I cross into Alberta I also lose an hour. So what..

Only 70 countries out of nearly 200 countries observe daylight saving time. Silly changing time twice a year.

Thanks for letting us know that you've changed your mind about the timing of Family Day. Nothing wrong with that. I used to think we should leave the clocks the same throughout the year and now I'm really fine either way. I will say this though: I'd like to know what the ramifications are for business should we make a change. What with the hike in the minimum wage and the new employer health tax I wouldn't want to throw something else at business right now that would be another challenge. Timing (pun intended) is everything.

My reasons has absolutely nothing to do with any politician it's because, no longer needed or necessary. So pick 1 & leave it

Perhaps we could satisfy both sides somewhat by just adjusting clock 1/2 hour and then Leave It Alone?

That way we'd be in sync with Newfoundland as well! Good idea!

I know how you must’ve felt, every time I drive from Revelstoke to Golden the time zone difference is a real pain..how dare parts of eastern BC never changing their clocks forwards or backwards, don’t they realize the problems they’re creating.

Global aviation uses 'Zulu' or 'Z'. Also known as GMT. That way everyone is on the same time globally.
Simplest solution is the correct answer. 6am here would translate into 1400Z.
Some may view my above politically incorrect opinions as 'harsh' and may even be offended by them. Some think political correctness will be our undoing.

That is very true. However Williston is in North Dakota.

Oops, I haven’t been in southern Saskatchewan or further south for 50 years, I’ve forgotten where some places are located.

But starting Sunday, 6am is 1300z.

As for daylight or standard year round the best is daylight. Example the sunrise on June 20 2018 is 4:51am and sets at 9:08pm. If it were not DST then it would be 3:51am for sunrise! I realize for the fogies this would be good but for me it would be horrible to have the sun up hours before anything is open. Let's not even talk about twilight. And forget about July or August enjoying a cool one after work and catching the last rays of the sun. Aug 20th the sun would set at 7:05pm. And that is not "go behind the mountains" set but below the horizon set. As pretend the mountains do not exist. But they do and that would mean another half hour or more depending on location in the valley. So lose the sun at 6:30pm in August? Have kids? Going outside to play after dinner means darkness soon after. Chores, no time outside and can't do it before 7am if it makes noise.
So many more reasons but if you try and take away my sunny summer evenings I will actually get involved. I don't usually but for this I would.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.
