BCTF - please fact check these guys

We know the BCTF is a dinosaur. We know the union industrial model doesn't work in public education. We know we can't really trust what the heads of the BCTF say. We know that the BCTF has become a political organization, that counts on teachers to fund their disgusting leftist political agenda. So can someone please fact-check this statement below?

The union representing British Columbia teachers will look to boost salaries, when their contract negotiations open later this year.

B.C. Teachers' Federation president Glen Hansman told a crowd at the union's annual general meeting Saturday night that the province's low starting salaries mean that B.C. still isn't attracting enough qualified teachers to fill a shortage that continues to reverberate across the province.

B.C. starting salaries are $10,000 to $15,000 lower than Ontario or Alberta, he said in an interview before his speech. That makes B.C. and Quebec the lowest in Canada, he said.

Is BC truly the "lowest in Canada" in terms of teacher salaries? If so, the BCTF has been doing an even crappier job than I thought, and teachers should just stop paying their dues to this awful organization. Can anyone do some fact-checking on old Hansman here?

Simple solution. Give them the raise they want if the number of teachers actually needed are hired/used. Seems just because the union said we can have all these teachers, regardless if they are needed or not, we will have all these teachers. BC taxpayer be damb'd.
Really unlikely this will happen. Did Carol James budget allow for this extortion the BCTF are going to inflict on us? Here comes another deficit budget folks....

And yes, it's BAD to pay people that work 180 days a year with defined benefit pensions more than the 90 grand most are raking in now. Time to reel in those bloated public sector salaries, cancel the defined benefit pension plans, and be fair to the beleaguered taxpayers in this province.

Not sure when the next election will be , but I am sure that every single vote will count. Mr. Horgan would gain more votes if he distanced himself from the BCTF. BCTF is the primary reason I voted Liberal before 2017.

Yeah well, we should just suck it up and double their pay, oh and give them a couple more months off during the year, because you know no other profession creates stress, and long hours now and then.

So the BCTF figures they need another 10-15K raise?

Is there any other union in the history of time, that is so bold as to think they can ask for a 15-20% wage increase?????

Might be time to consider resorting to shock treatments, in an effort to see if we can jump start their brains.
