I can see we have identified a real topic. Some people will use a hand up and get back to work and others will sit on the free help forever. Abother way to look at it is some people have a drive to work hard for themselves and others are happy with what minimal they have for free. There is no solution for the free ride type, they either have free help and live decent or we take their help away and they become homeless with no drive to work. There's a lot of people on here who think these Syrians should be cut off of funding and left to fend for themselves, if it was just the father I'd say go for it but that would also punish his daughter who seems to have drive to learn and work.

i think its funny that people can say this about poorer individuals. especially when businesses rely on governments - or are affected so dramatically by them. each level you step in the business realm ensures you can be rewarded by failure. the case in point is ceo's who lead companies to bankruptcy and get absurd bonus payments. meanwhile people are whining about a guy and his family. the same guy who has just exponentially contributed to the tax base of canada 8 times over. as well as himself.

What a pile of BS. Do you have a crystal ball to give you insight to what will happen in the future? What has the father or the family contributed to Canada? Show me proof you have that all of them or for that matter any of them will ever contribute to Canada. Hopefully they will but as of now and probably in the near future ZERO. What if they all decide to follow in the parents footsteps and have children to live off the child benefits.
Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have of changing others.

Please explain because at this time there is no tax base and possibly never will be. Please provide proof there will ever be a tax base. Which ones can you guarantee if any will ever pay taxes.

literally no one has said this. Why do the empty-headed bleeding hearts keep trying to change the narrative? It just makes you look so stupid.

really? thats your response? a merry go round of "prove it"? when have you ever not paid taxes? on anything? the same will be said for those 8 children. even if they end up welfare bums. they will even pay taxes on their utility bills. so - what exactly is this *bleep* for tat point you are trying to make? besides grinding an axe and making it useless?

It's even funnier that people who help themselves instead of suckling from the government teat are usually far more successful. I don't get why the Left hates people like that, other than they'd prefer to see our entire society suckling from one giant government teat, wholly dependent on a brain-dead Big Brother bureaucracy.

I don't blame the Syrian family here, I blame the system. This guy should be integrating and learning English, and starting to provide for his family. He can earn up to $30K a year without losing his $4,000 a month in Child tax gravy, so get going already dude! Stop proceating with your sick wife, and start pitching in and helping out. It's not that hard.

And what is your point exactly? No one is talking about the kids. Hopefully they do turn out to be productive members of society. What we are talking about is a system that doesn't just let people sit and drink coffee all day every day. And every time someone tries to discuss this, we get some braindead virtue-signaller coming in and posting sanctimonious garbage. This is why Donald Trump wins elections. Drop the victim routine and lets talk about the real issues here.

real issues? false flags are "real" issues? every day you turn on media or see information you see another business simply declaring bankruptcy. or causing economic breakdowns. and then you have the gall to mention trump? they moron causes stocks to plummet affecting shareholders. since when is it ok for world leaders to do this? youd think a champion of business and capitalism like yourself would abhor a moron like trump for such deeds. or - perhaps you are simply the new breed of capitalist that is opportunist and has an attitude of win at any cost. like your idol trump. i prefer moguls with class and a social conscience like branson. eventually this man will be productive in society. it will take time - but i would bet that eventually he will have some land to work and will make a success of it. people on here make it seem like a man from the part of the world he comes from is proud to "sit around and just have a coffee". my impression is that he isnt. he is a part of a group that is ripped from sales or marketing 101. he meets with other people for coffee and networks and looks for ways to improve. and sometimes that doesnt happen overnight. unless i guess you are entitled business people like many of the ones you see here in these forums. socialism and leg ups are only ok if its for them. anyone else can just *bleep* off i guess.

I'm glad you would like to see them continue to be funded. Based on a few of your comments I am unsure of what you think. If the dad never gets a job (we can't force him to) what would you like to see happen? I hope that they continue to get funding and all the kids get to go to study their field of choice and become members of society.

Good point. Naturally I'd never want to see a family be "cut off" from funding of course. But there should be some sort of agency created to help these people transition into society. And with that would be a natural end to their funding. I don't know if you have seen other posts of mine, but I noted that there was a marked difference between privately sponsored and government-sponsored refugees. The privately sponsored refugees seem to be integrating much faster, because they don't have an endless dole of government cash extending into eternity being provided.

I hope that they continue to get funding and all the kids get to go to study their field of choice and become members of society.

And I hope the dad gets a vasectomy.

seem to be? does that mean there is no barometer or proof of this supposition? what concerns me with this statement is it fits the narrative you subscribe to in regards to private over public. if it is s private company that facilitates this - and squanders budgets on high salaries and profits - then it is utopian. if it is a public system that facilitates this - then any of the money that is squandered on high salaries and profits can be used for more programs and the clients. this is bad how? and why?
