Be interesting to see how much more the remaining registered homeowners charge now that the available properties have been cut in half. Big win for hotels in the Vancouver area.

NOT a big win for hotels....it is a loss for tourism and a small loss for paid ads on Craig's list.
Tourists looking for airB&B will not look at hotels. They are looking for AB&B because the looked at hotels first and the prices drove them away to search for alternatives.
Since there is nothing suitable at a reasonable price, they will choose a different location for their holiday.
It's a lose/lose for B&B and tourism.

Some might, some won't. Some will still visit, they were just hoping to get a cheaper accommodation.

I agree with you to a point. But there is also a very valid counter point that the underground accommodation industry that pay no fee's or taxes undermines legitimate operators that do pay fee's and taxes. Ask yourself what the long term implications are for tourism accommodation investment will be if the Hotel/Motel industry has to compete with black market basement suites and investment condo's?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
