When a CBC reporter is hard on the government in power, they are doing their job. Some of the posts read like people expect the press to "have the governments back".

You're mixing up two concepts. Yes, the CBC reporters should question the government but no they shouldn't be taking sides and supporting one political party over the other. That partisanship should be reserved for editorial times and not reporting times.

As to your assertion that the US is generally racist but they just try to hide it I'd be careful with that stereotype. Of course there is racism in the US and in Canada too but to declare the US generally racist is over the top. I'm 100% against racism and homophobia and a great many people on both sides of the border agree with me (and you) on that. So let's be fair.

Edit to Add:

Reporter: Some observers say that the government should be doing more, that they aren't being proactive enough when it comes to helping Japan. What do you think?

Reporter: The government is doing nothing to help Japan and isn't being proactive in efforts to help Japan. What would you be doing if you were in government?

The first question (approximately the way Rosie Barton worded it) is biased and the second question is more professional and not biased.

The CBC protects The Lefties at all costs, stating that Proroguing is BAD , even though Chretien did it FOUR times while having a majority, and used it solely to eliminate the chance for the senate to pass funding for the very programs that the Liberals took credit for n the house of Commons. Just look up "The Sidewinder Report " and come on with the F-35's , he Liberals depleted the Canadian Armed Forces to JoKE statis , Chretien allowed the , then There's the fact that Chretien shutdown every army base in BC , and purchases helicopters that cost way more than the Mulroney contracted Helis that cost $1/2Billion to cancel the ontact which Chretien did just out of spite. Then he buys 3 subs that till on't work and have caused several deaths due to being pieces of junk .

And the whole Coalition of the 3Morons party idea was Broadbent and Chretien , trying to overthrow an elected government with a procedure tried in 1927 that Failed Miserably back then , but the CBC promoted it .

The CBC is pro Ontario and Quebec and anti-west . When Chretien was in office Western Separation was growing and there were even talks about Chretien was trying to sell BC
