Montreal's bylaw based on Jewish religion

Post by French Castanut »

Hampstead (on Montreal's Island) residents are now prohibited to do noise during Jewish Holidays.

Since when can a city do a bylaw based on religion?

85% of Hampstead residents are Jews.

Well that's all just backwards.
If the 85% were to do it right and sound the shofar like they're supposed to - its the construction workers that should be complaining of all the noise.

That one won't hold up long.

And it's probably one of the more ridiculous bylaws i've heard of, though there are much, much more ridiculous ones out there.

I'd run all of my air compressors outside all day for the duration in protest while blaring the loudest radio station I could find. And do some hammering and drilling for good measure.
