Good luck.

It's odd. RIM was the only stock I follow that didn't go down yesterday.

You're obviously following the wrong stocks!

CIBC went up,
Fortis went up,
TD went up,
Sunlife went up,
Manitoba Telecom went up,
and Sirius XM Radio Inc. went up (3.2%)... and those only a few of the stocks I follow.

It just shows that you follow a bunch of losers. :dyinglaughing:

Seriously though, what an asinine statement and just as valuable as pointing out that, out of the stocks I follow, RIM had the smallest increase in value.......whoopee.

Glacier, you're obviously not emotionally invested in one stock ( rule #2 of how not to invest ) or 'chasing" a stock ( rule #3 ).

Sorry, 4 others did too out of 20ish. My bad. How is that asinine LANDM? Glacier, Fortis is the only one I would consider on your list at the present. What interests you in Siruis?

BlackBerry has blown half of its working capital losing out on the playbook and reducing its employment levels to stay afloat, not to mention their devastating outages. It has a plan to spend nearly a Billion dollars to promote a phone that is at best as good as the leading phones currently on the market (Keep in mind most reports say it is nothing special) This and declining sales and increasing losses every quarter may leave RIM sitting with a company that cannot sell enough phones to cover the cost to build them.

That leaves a Billion or so dollars left over of working capital to bleed slowly as sales drop further..

Yeah... sounds like a great investment.

Thanks for the tips though, I blew 20G's on it at 7.75 and sold at 8.40.. That was good for a grand profit, but I don't feel like playing any more than that.. this company is simply going to go the way of Nortel.

Sad to see it failing, I always liked my BB.. that is, until I got a real phone that was useful.

Sirius has been on a tear the last couple of years because a lot of people have been purchasing satellite radio, and thus Sirius. I don't own any shares since I was skeptical of their potential growth going forward, but it's up 50% since June when I decided against it. Bad move on my part.

I glanced over the financials, they had good revenue growth. I don't like the obligations coming due over the next few years and I think it's a market that could offer more competition. Other than that, I was surprised by their financials.

XXYZ: How has RIM blown half of its working capital? More important, do you know what working capital is? How are losses increasing quarter after quarter? Where does it say sales have been declining? :dyinglaughing: And, please tell me how they only have a billion dollars left over for working capital. If you cannot intelligently defend these questions, it will be evidence of your lack of financial acumen. Please, prove me wrong.
(This is going to be good.)

People's opinion on the new phone is nothing but hearsay. The sales wills say how good of a phone it is. I personally think it is going to be awesome.

I can't wait for your answer and proof. :skippingsheep:

RIM is down 6% today. I wonder why static hasn't made any mention of this fact yet?

Down day in the market and non-dividend payers tend to drop more than payers, and Samsung announced they will be competing against RIM on the enterprise level. No big deal. Its a buying oppurtunity.
