There is no evidence that Harper's campaign or any of the other candidates were involved in the calls.
So the contents of the article doesn't jibe with your misleading thread title.

Apparently the same goes for reading heymac's links.

While it's true that you can't believe EVERYTHING you read in the newspaper, there appears to be enough "meat" to this story to suggest at least a semblance of truth. And frankly, something on as large a scale as this particular misinformation campaign could hardly be attributed to just one individual, or one small group of individuals.
The Conservative Party as an official entity was most likely not involved. However, as the party is really only a group of individuals who come together for a common purpose, one has to question what type of individual form the majority of the membership these days. There are many Conservative supporters who are good, honest folk who would never stoop to these kind of dirty tricks in order to win an election. But unfortunately, as more and more of these kind of "bad egg" stories come to the fore, I'm begining to wonder about some of the people who are being attracted to the party, and why it is so very important to them to make sure the Conservative's win.
We all tend to have strong feelings about our personal political affiliations, but we're not so obsessed with it that we'd stoop to ANY level to get what we want. Yet more and more these days, particularly within the Conservative fold, we hear stories about people who are stooping to these type of low down tricks. I know some of you are going to say you find folk like that in ALL political parties, and unfortunately that's true. But it does seem to me that we're hearing more often about this type of behaviour from those within the Conservative fold lately, and I have to wonder why that is?

A firm that used to work for the Conservatives robo-called 100's of thousands of people in NDP/Liberal swing riding's on election night, telling them to go to fictitious voting locations.
Who would benefit from this? The NDP, The Green Party? The Liberals?
..or the Conservatives?
Elections are bought, this is no democracy. Yet more proof.
Where is the Canadian Woodward and Bernstein when you need them?
Investigate further, this is not "a prank".

It was mostly liberal ridings, it would be like some nd's to do this to blame the conservatives.

Re: CONS misleading voters?..say it ain't so. RCMP involved
Incorrect - it was mostly NDP swing riding's and lest we forget the "Orange Crush" the Conservatives were fearing. The NDP had huge momentum going into election day.
In one riding there was a difference of 12 votes. If those 100's of thousands of calls confused at least 12 people to go to the wrong voting station - may have skewed election results and effectively fraudulently put a government in power.
Watch this story develop.

Re: CONS misleading voters?..say it ain't so. RCMP involved
Some time ago, blogger Alison at Creekside noted that Stephen Harper's majority was won by a mere 6,201 voters in 14 ridings.
Here's the list, with the margins of victory:
Nipissing-Timiskaming (Ontario): 14
Labrador (Newfoundland & Labrador): 231
Bramalea-Gore-Malton (Ontario): 538
Etobicoke Centre (Ontario): 26
Saskatoon Rosetown Biggar (Saskatchewan): 538
Elmwood-Transcona (Manitoba): 284
Montmagny-L'islet-Kamouraska-Riveire-du-Loup (Quebec): 110
Lotbiniere-Chutes-de-la-Chaudiere (Quebec): 777
Don Valley West (Ontario): 639
Mississauga East-Cooksville (Ontario): 661
Winnipeg South Centre (Manitoba): 696
Yukon: 132
Desenthe-Missinippi-Churchill River (Saskatchewan): 789
Palliser (Saskatchewan): 766
Total deciding votes for the Cons: 6201
VS hundreds of thousands of calls telling people to go to the wrong voting stations across town.
Im trying to verify these numbers. Interesting though.

Did the cons call for a redo in the affected areas? By not righting the wrong and getting a revote in the affected areas, they choose to ignore illegal activity that benefitted them. Looks pretty fishy to me, specially considering they're so harsh on lesser crimes that even texas says they're going overboard.
We'll probably never know if the cons were in on it. That's the thing about being rich, you can pay some *bleep* to do your dirty work for you. And if he rats, you just pay some other *bleep* to say the rat can't be trusted... say he was seen doing blow off hookers boobs. Wouldn't be the first time they've used that story and then got their stories about the story mixed up.
