More proof why the Tyee is a giant joke

The Tyee ran a story that outlined a legitimate concern about funding cuts to the National Archive. The story itself was above the usual standard of their reporting, in that it didn't contain massive hyperbole and obvious stupid left-wing slants. That was fine. But then they ran this piece of garbage:

This article is so bad, it defies description. What is sad is that the author of this joke is an "adjunct professor" at Simon Fraser. Why Simon Fraser would want to employ this guy is anyone's guess, but if this is the state of mind of the people being paid to teach our kids, no wonder they are so messed up and coming out of our schools with useless degrees, completely unprepared for the real world. If this guy is imparting these kinds of stupid ideologies onto our kids, he should be fired. This article is garbage, and unfortunately, makes me not want to support the idea of fighting funding cuts to the archives. For shame Tyee. You are a giant joke.

You obviously didn't even read the article or you probably would have thought more about calling the OP a "nut". This article does nothing to help the Tyee be even remotely credible. Even you must see that.

You also missed the part where the Op stated that the Tyee had actually put out a reasonable article about the funding cuts, but followed it up with this piece of crap.

The Tyee loses all credibility when it publishes an article like the Gutstein one. There's nothing scholarly about it and it reads more like the ramblings of a Harper-hater. Garbage it is.

The Tyee targets the less attentive and easily led. Contributors like Her Dix and his boatload of leaches lap up anything that societies floaters need to hear to validate their lives as leaches.

Today's headline is "Christy Clark's Mysterious Phone Call with Gordon Campbell".

The NDP lapdogs drool over ignorance like this. Good thing is that while keeping themselves entertained, it herds them up. It will be too late when they wake up to realize that they wasted their time on this earth being angry at the "government", who of course are their friends an neighbours.

I'm not calling you names Fritz. I'm just surprised you believe those "secrets" in the article. You can call me a "right wing nut" if you like (I've been called worse) but I'm a libertarian on the social issues (I favour same-sex marriage, abortion rights, euthanasia etc), I support our social safety net, and while I think it needs some adjustments I support our health care system. But I think that governments need to get back to the essentials and stop piling on the debt. We need to live within our means. So if that's your idea of a "right wing nut" then you must be waaaaaay out there in left field.

And by the way, the NDP doesn't represent all socialism all the time just like the other parties federally or provincially don't represent all free enterprise all the time. From the health care system, to various provincial ambulance services (BC Ambulance Service for example), liquor sales, BC Ferries (and similar operations in other provinces) etc. we have strong evidence of a mixed economy and not a straight free enterprise one. So for me it's not a matter of the social hordes being at the gate (WAC Bennett coined that phrase) but simply wanting to maintain a healthy private enterprise economy, albeit a mixed economy as we have, without further increasing the size and scope of government.
