Right to Die
Interesting decision regarding the right to die. What are your thoughts?

Re: Right to Die
I think it's a move in the right direction.
I don't ask the elderly about their birthday plans anymore. It became too depressing to hear (most) of them tell me they hoped to kill themselves. :(
There has to be an option for terminally ill people to exit with dignity, rather than waiting until the bitter end.
Having said that, everyone should consider having an "advanced care plan" outlying their wishes for treatment. Same idea as a Do Not Resuscitate certificate, but can cover more.
For example, if you become ill with dementia and have a preexisting heart condition, do you want to continue to be treated for the heart condition after you've lost all concept of yourself? Or would you prefer to not have any of your conditions treated, allowing you to pass away from the heart condition at some point?

Re: Right to Die
You don't give enough choices on your poll. It's not that cut and dried.
If a person is terminal and there is no hope (as determined by a group of doctors similar to the Netherlands) then yes!
If a person has a living will that states his/her wishes, if they can no longer decide for themselves then yes as well.

Of course I talk to myself.....sometimes I need expert advice!
Don't grow up....it's a trap!
