Representatives from the Bank of Canada will be in Kelowna Wednesday to introduce the new $20 polymer bank note.

The new $20 polymer bank note will be introduced Wednesday

The new bills, the most widely used on all Canadian bank notes, will go in circulation that day.

Simultaneous ceremonies are being held regionally across the country to unveil the note, which pays tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian men and women in all military conflicts.

The new $20 bill features the Canadian National Vimy Memorial.

The ceremony in Kelowna, which includes Bank of Canada and National Defence representatives, will be held at the Brigadier Angle Armoury at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The Bank of Canada issued the $100 bank note in November 2011, followed by the $50 note in March 2012.

The remaining bank notes in the series, the $5 and $10 notes, will be unveiled and issued by the end of 2013.

Here I go - bitchin' and whinin' again ...

How many of those new twenty dollar bills will they have spent (wasted) touting this thing across the country? We'll be having Bank of Canada reps and National Defence reps in Kelowna as well as in other places in Canada to "unveil" the new bank note.

Why couldn't they have saved all that money and just done their photo-op, pat-their-backs ceremony in Ottawa and be done with it? Why was it necessary to spend all this money moving BofC and ND people all over the place and making "ceremonies"? The PM isn't even in the country right now, either! He's busy off-shore selling our country (and our fancy new $20 bills) out from under us.
We are a generation of idiots - smart phones and dumb people.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
