QC: Speeding got him 1401$ Fine & 18 demerit points
WATERLOO - The Sûreté du Québec stopped a motorist rather reckless Wednesday night, as it was traveling at 200 km / h on a highway near Waterloo in Montérégie.
SQ had previously received calls from other motorists on the speeder, which raged on Highway 10.
According to the spokeswoman Aurélie Guindon, police arrested the driver of 24 years in the moments following the call. It was traveling at 193 km / h when the police picked up speed on their radar.
During the arrest, a truck driver even stopped to tell the police that he was happy to see that driver arrested, saying he was being overtaken by a vehicle more than 220 km / h.
The young man, a native of St. Brigid d'Iberville, got a ticket for $ 1,401 and 18 demerit points were debited from their driving record.
