That was my point "How long did it take you to call it in?".
lol - hardly. Do you realize how long you'd have to live in a neighbourhood before you got to know all the vehicles parked? I still don't recognize some families' vehicles since they change so often. If I was a Vernon Cop and drove down certain streets throughout my shifts I know I would notice a strange vehicle
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

i guess some of us are smart enough and others are not? this was not a side street where people park
this is 53 ave where no one parks because it was all no parking.

Which has to do with city bylaw. Your point?

Did you call it in when you saw it there on day 1? Maybe the police officers driving by noticed it and figured it was someone quickly patronizing yours or another business and decided to give them a break.
If that had been the case and they enforced the law, then you'd be on here complaining about over-zealous cops!
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

Police won't automatically check for bylaw infractions - bylaws are mainly complaint driven.

police dont police no parking. I phoned in the truck after about 5 days and was told it was in fact reported stolen several days ago
