Re: RCMP failed to track internal misconduct for years
Whenever a group stands behind one of thier worst members, they all begin to look alike. The RCMP have been guilty of doing this for years, is it any wonder they have a perception crisis.

Apparently misconduct is not rampant - read the entire article for more.“The RCMP hadn't been tracking until I got here and now we are. We're tracking them all."
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

When an institution becomes this big and powerful you will always find corruption in the corners.Power corrupts and ultimate power corrupts ultimately. There will always be bad cops ,bad priests bad teachers, bad lawyers ,bad politicians ,and judges. They are few and far between I hope. The question is what do you do with them.Do you give greater tolerance because of your admiration of the institution or treat them like everyone else.I say the latter and not allow power to alter powers punishment.
The force needs to be broken up into provincial forces.Implementing new methods of security employment, just look at Europe, they are always way ahead. What's left the horses ,the hats all go on a big Canadian pr tour sponsored by Disney.

it does in Ontario and Quebec. Mounties look after federal matters there and leave the dirty work to the provincial force.
Peace be with you.

I am well aware of Quebec and Ontario provincial police forces. What doesn't work is the breaking up of a federal force into provincial police forces. There is a lot more to it than that and, so far, BC has opted out of a provincial force.

It it will take lots of freakin blessed, golden tax dollars .Just once. It will save the image of our beloved Royal Canadian Mounted Police It will take it out of the hands of the one percent of keystone cops and put in the hands of someone who can maintain her wholesome image.
Peace be with you.

if 99 percent of cops actually did a good job u would not see threads like this be so popular . obviously its a lot more than 1 percent that r the problem

This would be a time to lay down fresh policy and when the bcpp taser someone to death the rcmp keeps their clean Canadian image.
Peace be with you.

Won't matter if the RCMP doesn't exist.kibbs wrote:This would be a time to lay down fresh policy and when the bcpp taser someone to death the rcmp keeps their clean Canadian image.

They would maintain a federal and pr position drawing in bucks from Disney. We need to see more Mountie movies to give them a fresh spin. The image has been tarnished and something needs to be done to draw in more good cops.

You said you were breaking up the RCMP to provide provincial policing. Not that it's going to happen but you need to think things through a little bit better.

Its not like im alone with the idea of a bcpp and its not like there has never been one

This is getting off topic but it is trying to find solutions to how to improve our police force ,people complain that these threads turn into cop bashes but i hear little in the way of solutions.
