Canada's Courts Fail Society
The decision to reduce the sentences of these sadistic turds is proof positive that "the law is an *bleep*" and our courts a farce. How could anyone be anything but angry at a judiciary that could arrive at such a decision? Every literate citizen in this country ought to write a letter to the Minister of Justice on this repulsive sentence reduction. The notion that judges be obligated to adhere to backroom agreements made between defence council and prosecutors is faulted for sure.

No matter what symptoms, upbringing, or intelligence they have, the judgement should be on whether they knew what they were doing was right or wrong. It seems they didn't abuse him in public meaning they knew damn well it was wrong.
They say you can't believe everything they say.

There never was any doubt as to whether the charged persons knew what they did was wrong. The issue that prompted my post was the wrongness of what the court has done in reducing the sentences for these vermin. Since the court reduced the sentences in public, the court itself doesn't appear to know the difference between right and wrong of it's own actions. Either that or uncontrolled arrogance is the cause... that couldn't be though, could it?

The title of this thread should read a Canadian Court fails society and Judges are in no way obligated to adhere to backroom agreements made between defence council and prosecutors. This is a mess for sure. Good thing they weren’t found growing pot.

Is there any topic that can be posted that someone won't try to insert some comment about pot, grow-ops or legalizing it?

Any issues that anyone has with interdiction efforts focused on marihuana, it's cultivation, distribution, export, etc should be focusing their criticism on our law makers... the people we send to Ottawa as Members of Parliament. Focusing complaint or dissatisfaction with the police or the courts is misplaced. It is not for the police to decide which laws they should or should not enforce, and God only knows, the courts have gone as far as they can go in terms of leniency respecting drug charges. Although simple possession of pot remains an offence against the CSA in Canada, it is pretty clear the police don't make it a habit of chasing after people for that offence.
